Adapters for Cars

Frequently Asked Questions

The setup process is similar to the smart screen, but guided through the car's original screen:

  1. Hardware Preparation: Insert the USB connector of the conversion box into your car's USB port for wired CarPlay / Android Auto. Start the vehicle.
  2. Wait for Car System Recognition: Wait for about 30 seconds until the CarPlay or Android Auto connection interface appears on your car's screen.
  3. Prepare Your Phone: Before proceeding, ensure your phone's Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are both enabled.
  4. Bluetooth Pairing:
    1. Open your phone's Bluetooth settings, find and select the Bluetooth device name that appears on your car's screen.
    2. Click "Pair". The pairing process is usually quick. Your phone may prompt you for authorization for "CarPlay" or "Android Auto", please make sure to click "Allow" or "Use CarPlay in the car".
  5. Complete Wireless Connection: Once connected, your car's screen will automatically switch within a few seconds to display your phone's CarPlay or Android Auto interface.
  6. Subsequent Use: After the initial successful setup, the system will remember the pairing. In the future, just start the vehicle, and the conversion box and phone will automatically connect wirelessly within 30 seconds, no further action needed.

The startup sequence is crucial and is the most common cause of connection failure:

  • Correct Order: Start the vehicle, wait for the car system to fully load and then wait for the conversion box indicator light to enter standby mode (e.g., slow flashing), and then turn on your phone's Bluetooth / Wi-Fi.
  • Incorrect Order: If you turn on the phone first and then start the vehicle, the phone may try to connect to an old signal, causing confusion.
  • Phone Pairing: In your phone settings, select "Forget" for the device, restart the car system (or lock the car and wait a few minutes), then strictly follow the correct order and retry.

Each adapter typically supports one connection at a time, with options for switching between devices.

  • Single Connection per Phone: Only one phone can be connected and mirrored at a time (either CarPlay or Android Auto).
  • Switching Phones: Most conversion boxes can remember multiple phones. To switch, disconnect CarPlay from the currently connected phone, or turn off its Bluetooth / Wi-Fi, then the other phone will connect automatically or manually.
